There’s no doubt the food at Shepherd is fine-dining level – the many awards it’s garnered since opening in 2016 are a testament to that. Ingredients are seasonal and locally sourced as much as possible. Be prepared for a treat, their menu is excellent.


Field & Green

Step off the busy streets of Wellington into Field & Green, where award winning chef Laura Greenfield delivers European soul food with robust flavours full of personality. The Scandinavian lighting and Italian furniture adds to the atmosphere, while the mid-century Sheffield bone and silver cutlery passed down by co-owner’s Raechal's grandmother adds a personal touch.



Based on a classical Italian style, Capitol's food is fresh, pure and uncluttered.  Capitol's bistro-style menu is strongly seasonal and is carefully designed to take full advantage of local produce. The restaurant has an intimate feel and will have you feeling comfortable and relaxed while enjoying their winter warming menu.
