Such a relief to be back in Level 2 and out of lockdown, walking in the sunshine of freedom. Now it’s time for us to leave our bubbles and do our part to support and enjoy what the many local businesses of Wellington have to offer. Hopefully you will feel inspired by our top picks.

Stay Safe in Style with a Locally Made Face Mask

Face masks are now more important that ever, so you might as well wear it with style. Wellington seamstress Kenzy at Made by Kenzy offers a range of fabric masks in funky colours and prints from $15 each. Featuring a pleated design, adjustable straps and the all-important nose wire, you’ll be both comfortable and stylish.

Have a Second Helping of Wellington on a Plate

From the 8th September – 3rd October, Wellington on a Plate returns to our city, putting burgers, cocktails and events back on the menu for the next four more weeks.

Look, Squirrel!

Support not one but many local businesses at Squirrel on Blair Street. Sip on their local brew and enjoy a perfectly curated collection of Wellington’s best bakers and producers from around town including Wellington Sourdough, and the vibrant salads by Queen Sally’s Diamond Deli. Afterwards, you can stroll through to Small Acorns for a browse around this stylish home interior store.

The Golden Mile

Take a walk down the Golden Mile and rediscover local favourites like Vance Vivian, who offer premium quality men’s fashion. A definite top pick. Looking for your next read? The independent bookstore Unity Books on Willis Street has an excellent range, as well as a passionate team happy to offer you a recommendation.

Mere footsteps from the Golden Mile, and definitely worth a shout out is Wilson Trollope on Victoria Street. Wellington designer Annabelle Wilson’s designs have an understated polished elegance with classic, uncomplicated silhouettes and engaging prints.

Karen Walker is another must on Victoria Street. Her eccentrically elegant style has established a stellar international following for her ready-to-wear, eyewear, jewellery, bags and fragrance.

As you can see across Wellington there are so many local stores for you to enjoy. We hope you now feel inspired to leave your bubbles, support local, and enjoy what our wonderful city has to offer. As a local business ourselves, we appreciate how important it is for these locals to get the community support they need.

Wellington will always be the place to be, and because of that here at HiAtlas properties are not staying available for long. We'd love to hear from you if you have any requirements or have a property that would fit in our portfolio.
