Top 5 Things to do in Wellington After Dark
No matter what the hour, the Capital is always humming with people and activities. Here’s our list of the top five must dos for when the sun goes down:
Local theatre – take in one of the many live theatre performances that occur at Circa and BATS Theatres. Both are renown for showcasing upcoming talent as well as well known favourites. Larger productions are found at St James Theatre or The Opera House, all of which are found within the CBD.
Embrace the retro – bring back the good old by playing a few games at Ye Olde Pinball Shop on Bond Street or join in with their regularly scheduled activities. Or venture out to one or two of the later closing vintage clothing stores such as Ziggurat or Hunters & Collectors to grab some new glad rags before you head out to the disco. These do close around 6-7pm, so best for when you want to take an early night.
Restaurants and bars – if you are a fan of craft beer, the Capital is the place to visit! Or experience the magic at Puffin, a gorgeous wine bar specialising in organic and minimal intervention wines found on Ghuznee Street.
Sports & concerts – you must add The Cake Tin to your Wellington after dark to-do list when there’s an a new team in town. Local and international rugby, cricket and football matches are held throughout the year, and tickets sell out fast!
