Each year, thousands of people from overseas and within NZ consider moving to Auckland for work. And why wouldn’t they? Our biggest city, and one which is often mistakenly referred to as being the Capital city, Auckland is a buzzing hive of metropolis. As property managers specialising in furnished apartments, we regularly welcome and help our tenants find Auckland’s perfect city pad or suburban property. Today, we’re welcoming you!

Your Guide to Moving to Auckland

Making a move to work in Auckland is an exciting endeavour. Frequently ranked within the top 10 of the world’s most liveable cities, Auckland is renowned for its harbour, beaches, scenery and diverse population. In fact, many people find themselves unwilling to leave after their work is finished!

Let’s look at some of the key questions we are asked by our tenants:

·       Where are the best furnished apartments to rent located?

A high number of our Auckland properties are located within a variety of apartment buildings throughout the CBD. This is great for those working within the central city, with the ability to easily walk, use public transport or private car rentals to travel to work. We do have less frequently, larger townhouse or homes within nearby suburbs, which would work well for families or those who wish to get out of the bustle.

·       Where is the best shopping in Auckland?

From high end designer boutiques at Britomart and Newmarket, an eclectic mix of stores and souvenir shops within the CBD and K Road, through to Sylvia Park (NZ’s largest shopping centre) and Westfield St Lukes, Auckland has many wonderful shopping opportunities.

·       What is there to do in the weekends?

There are many great activities within the city and wider suburbs. Within the city, you can catch a ferry over to the historic Devonport Village, sample the delights to be found at the many eateries around the waterfront, visit some of NZ’s best beaches, enjoy taking a walk in one of the many nature reserves or catch up with family at the Auckland Zoo or Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium.

·       Can you recommend some great places to eat and drink?

Absolutely! If fine dining is your thing, we suggest taking a look through our list of 7 of the City of Sail’s fine dining restaurants. Viaduct Harbour has some great restaurants and bars, including Dr Rudi’s Rooftop Brewing Co and Swashbucklers. Then there’s some great bakeries to try, like Beabea’s Bakery in Westmere and the iconic Auckland Wild Wheat.
