Guided night tour at Zealandia – spend an evening listening to and spotting some of our local native birds at Zealandia bird sanctuary in Kaori. You can also visit during the day, when you will be able to walk amongst some of the rarest birds, including hihi and takahe.
Helicopter tour – how about catching a ride with locally owned helicopter company for an aerial tour of the city? The pilot will even land at a remote location to give you time to enjoy the stunning view and a glass of bubbles! Great if you are celebrating a special anniversary.
Enjoy a movie – we have some lovely cinemas in the Capital, so why not take some time to enjoy a romantic comedy (or blood and guts/thriller) movie at one of them. The Penthouse Cinema, Embassy Theatre and Roxy Cinema are a few delights we could name.
Afternoon picnic in the Botanic Gardens – Wellington’s Botanic Gardens have a good variety of flat and hilly walking routes you could enjoy. Bring a picnic with you, as with 25 hectares, including a gorgeous rose garden, you’ll find the perfect spot for afternoon tea.
Enjoy a drink – you have got to check out our top five places to enjoy craft beer in Wellington! Or if cocktails are more your thing, a stroll around Courtney Place and Cuba Street will be on your to do list.
Sit down for a meal – there are numerous restaurants and cafes which would be ideal to explore during your upcoming romantic weekend in Wellington.
